D.C. man’s Quick Pick numbers deliver big lottery windfall

by Local News Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A retired U.S. Postal Service employee won a $50,000 top prize in the March 1 Bonus Match 5 drawing after a Quick Pick ticket delivered his biggest win yet.

The Washington, D.C. resident, who usually selects numbers based on past winning patterns, said he also plays Quick Pick numbers alongside his chosen selections. This time, the randomly generated numbers paid off.

The longtime player said he has matched four out of five numbers multiple times using his system and plans to continue his strategy. He is still considering how to use his winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at Meyers Liquors, 3601 Old Silver Hill Road in Suitland. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.
