LAKEWOOD, NJ — Lakewood Township has designated nine official locations for residents to conduct Chometz burning on Friday, April 11, between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., with local departments coordinating to ensure fire safety and public compliance.

The burning sites include locations across the township, from local parks and sports complexes to community and religious centers. All sites will be staffed by officials from the Lakewood Fire Department, Police Department, Department of Public Works, and Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office to ensure operations remain safe and controlled.

Designated burning locations are:
- Private Way and 7th Street
- Clifton Avenue and 10th Street
- Jersey Shore BlueClaws Stadium parking lot
- John F. Patrick Sports Complex on Vine Avenue
- Larry D’Zio Park on Locust Street
- Khal Zichron Yaakov at 175 Sunset Road
- Frank Bartolf Park on Brook Road
- Pine Park on West County Line Road
- 185 Miller Road
Safety rules issued by the township include maintaining proper distance from fires, ensuring children are supervised at all times, and only burning food items. Residents are specifically prohibited from burning items such as cans, plastic, and Lulav cases, due to fire and inhalation hazards.
Separate dumpsters will be provided at each location for the disposal of non-burnable items. Fire and township officials will be on-site to guide residents and enforce regulations.
