EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. — A dog that escaped from its residence and became stuck beneath a nearby home was rescued Sunday by an East Brunswick police officer who crawled under the foundation to reach it, officials said.
Police responded to the area of Milltown Road on May 11 after receiving a report of a dog trapped under a house. New Brunswick Animal Control was called to assist but was unable to reach the animal using available equipment.
After multiple unsuccessful rescue attempts, Patrolman Colin White identified a small access point in the home’s foundation.
White entered the crawl space and retrieved the dog, who was safely removed without injury.
The department shared details of the incident on social media, commending Patrolman White for his actions.
