Woman accused of child endangerment being held on active ICE detainer at Ocean County Jail

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A woman is being held without bail in Ocean County following her arrest on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child, according to inmate records.

Lizbeth Diaz Gonzalez, 5-foot-7 and 132 pounds, was booked on Monday, May 26 under charge code 2C:24-4A, the failure of a person with a legal duty to care for a child to ensure the child’s welfare. The charge is classified as a second-degree offense in New Jersey.

Immigration detainer issued, no bond allowed

An immigration detainer has been issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under component number 232 700 349. The case status is listed as “Open,” and no bail has been set in connection with the charge.

Gonzalez remains in custody at the Ocean County Jail.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has not released details on the charges as of Tuesday.
