Burlington County player wins $50,000 in Powerball Double Play drawing

by Local News Report

TRENTON, N.J. — While the $204.5 million Powerball jackpot was claimed by a player in California on Saturday, a Burlington County resident walked away with a $50,000 prize in New Jersey’s own winning moment.

The winning New Jersey ticket matched four white balls and the Power Ball in the Double Play drawing, an optional add-on feature for Powerball players. The ticket was sold at News Agency, located at 420 High Street in Burlington. The Double Play numbers drawn were 34, 44, 61, 64, 68, with the Power Ball number 19.

The Double Play feature offers players an extra chance to win with a top prize of $10 million. Matching four numbers and the Power Ball in this secondary drawing secured the Burlington County player a $50,000 payout.

Free play promotion now activated across New Jersey

Following the Powerball jackpot win, the New Jersey Lottery launched its “The Jackpot Was Hit” promotion. Now through Saturday, June 7, players who purchase three Powerball plays on a single ticket will receive a free $2 Powerball play on a separate ticket.

While the Powerball jackpot has reset to $20 million, New Jersey continues to see regular winners at multiple prize levels. Players are reminded to check their tickets and take advantage of current promotions.
