PHILADELPHIA — A violent series of incidents across Philadelphia on Sunday left at least six people injured in separate stabbings and shootings, including one woman in critical condition from a gunshot wound to the head.
The earliest incident occurred around 5:26 a.m. near Roberts and Stokley Streets, where police found a 26-year-old woman shot in the head. She was rushed by officers to Temple University Hospital and remains in critical condition. A second victim from the same scene, a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg, was also taken to Temple Hospital and is in stable condition.
Later in the morning, at 6:19 a.m., a 33-year-old man walked into Roxborough Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face. He was later transferred to Einstein Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. Around 8 a.m., another 33-year-old man arrived at Nazareth Hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. Authorities say preliminary information indicates he is the suspect in the earlier shooting. He was detained and taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center as a prisoner hospital case.
At 11:54 a.m. in the 12th District, a shooting was reported on the 5100 block of Kingsessing Avenue. The victim was taken by private vehicle to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is in stable condition.
Less than an hour later, at 12:41 p.m., officers in the 24th District responded to a stabbing on the 4000 block of Castor Avenue. The female victim was taken by private vehicle to Jefferson Frankford Hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
At 1:16 p.m., another stabbing was reported in the 15th District on the 5100 block of Frankford Avenue. The male victim was transported to Temple University Hospital. His condition also remains unknown.
Investigations into all incidents remain ongoing, and authorities have not released information on potential motives or connections between the cases.
