Maryland man arrested in delaware for fifth dui after swerving on highway — Police Light Traffic Stop

BRIDGEVILLE, DE — A Maryland man with four previous DUI convictions was arrested Saturday night after state troopers pulled him over for erratic driving in Sussex County and determined he was impaired behind the wheel again.

Around 9:00 p.m. on August 29, Delaware State Police responded to a report of a black GMC Yukon driving at low speed and swerving in the left lane along Seashore Highway and Sussex Highway in Bridgeville. A trooper located the vehicle traveling southbound near Redden Road and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as 51-year-old Todd Kellner of Westminster, Maryland, was administered a field sobriety test and showed clear signs of impairment, according to police. He was taken into custody without incident.

A records check revealed Kellner had four previous DUI convictions. He was transported to Troop 5, where he was charged with a fifth offense DUI — a felony under Delaware law.

Kellner was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,000 secured bond.
