Woman’s body found in New Jersey woods wearing hospital gown sparks mystery
Hamilton Twp., NJ — A body discovered in a wooded area off Tuckahoe Road in the Estell Manor section of Hamilton Township is raising disturbing questions as State Police seek the public’s help to identify the woman, who was found wearing a hospital gown and red t-shirt.
Troopers responded just before 9 a.m. after a passerby reported the possible remains. Upon arrival, authorities located the body of a white female, believed to be between 50 and 70 years old, with a height range of approximately 5’1” to 5’7”. She was dressed in a plain red short-sleeve shirt and a hospital gown with a blue floral pattern.
The location is heavily wooded, off a rural stretch of Tuckahoe Road in Atlantic County, miles away from any known medical facilities, raising further questions about how she ended up there and under what circumstances. No identification was found with the remains, and the woman has yet to be identified.

The New Jersey State Police Major Crime South Unit is leading the investigation and has released a photo of the hospital gown in an effort to generate leads. Officials have not commented on how long the remains may have been in the woods or whether foul play is suspected.
The remains were removed from the scene and transported for forensic examination. An autopsy will determine cause and manner of death. State Police are urging anyone who may recognize the clothing or have information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
The case remains open and under active investigation.
