Queens, NY – A 67-year-old man was injured Tuesday morning when he was struck in the face with a paper towel roll and slapped by an unidentified woman inside a storefront on 101 Avenue, police said.

Unexpected attack inside storefront

The incident unfolded at about 10:22 a.m. inside 119-17 101 Avenue when the suspect approached the man and hurled a roll of paper towels, hitting him in the face, authorities said. The blow left a scratch and shattered the victim’s glasses. Moments later, the attacker slapped him across the face before running off.

Suspect fled on foot

The woman bolted northbound on 120th Street and was last seen entering a residence at 120-08 97 Avenue, police said. Emergency responders rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Investigators are searching for a woman with a light complexion and long braids. She was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, plain pants and black sandals.
