PHILADELPHIA, PA – A late-night home invasion left a family terrorized and a father injured after an armed suspect stormed their Northeast Philadelphia home.
The incident happened just before midnight Saturday on the 500 block of Marwood Road.
Police said a man sitting on his front porch was confronted by an armed suspect dressed in black and forced inside at gunpoint.
Once inside, the intruder restrained the man, his wife, and their daughter with zip-ties while demanding money. He then took the father upstairs, stole about $1,000 in cash, and struck him in the head with the gun before fleeing the home.
The father suffered head injuries, and the daughter sustained abrasions from the restraints. The wife was not hurt.
The victims managed to free themselves and call police within minutes. Surveillance cameras at the property recorded the incident, and detectives are reviewing the footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
