CHESAPEAKE, VA – A woman was found dead Tuesday afternoon in the 700 block of South Lake Circle, prompting a swift police response and the arrest of a juvenile suspect.
Officers arrived just after 4:27 p.m. and discovered the victim at the scene.
Police confirmed the suspect was taken into custody shortly after their arrival.
Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public as the investigation continues.

Detectives from the Chesapeake Police Department are working to determine what led to the woman’s death and the events that preceded it. The identity of the victim has not been released pending family notification.
