Gas station scratch-off nets Ohio man $150K prize
LOGAN, OH – A routine gas station stop in Logan turned into a six-figure win for one lucky Ohio Lottery player, who scratched off a $5 Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 50x ticket and won $150,000 — all while sitting in his car after fueling up.
The ticket was purchased at Station 177 Food & Fuel, located at 37363 Rocky Boots Way. After walking back to his car and pumping gas, the man started scratching the ticket. His wife, sitting beside him, encouraged him to continue as the prize amounts added up.
He won the game’s second-tier prize of $150,000. After mandatory federal and state tax withholdings, he will take home approximately $109,312. Lottery officials say he is currently building a home, and the prize money will support the completion of the project.
The Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 50x game still has five $150,000 prizes remaining, along with one top prize of $500,000 and other prize levels. The overall odds of winning in the game are 1 in 3.66.
Station 177 Food & Fuel will receive a $1,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
