Cops nab duo for burglary in abandoned building on Baltimore Street
CUMBERLAND, MD – Two people were arrested Thursday after being found inside an abandoned building marked with “No Trespassing” signs in downtown Cumberland, according to police.
Officers with the Cumberland Police Department were assisting City Code Enforcement in the 200 block of Baltimore Street when they discovered 40-year-old Kimberly Carnley of Cumberland and 57-year-old William Dibuono of Lonaconing inside the property. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center.
Carnley was charged with fourth-degree burglary. Dibuono also faces the same charge, in addition to a possession of CDS paraphernalia charge. Authorities later learned Dibuono was wanted on five separate warrants for failing to comply with pre-trial release conditions. He was held without bond following a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.
The arrests came as part of a broader warrant sweep conducted the same day across the city, which resulted in officers serving a total of seven warrants.
Among those arrested was 42-year-old Roger Darr of Cumberland. He was taken into custody for two warrants related to failure to appear in court and a probation violation. Darr was held on a $500 bond.
Police also served a criminal summons to 33-year-old Samantha Louden of Cumberland in connection to an assault that occurred on August 29. Louden is accused of exiting her vehicle and physically attacking a victim before fleeing the scene.
All cases remain under investigation as local police continue targeted enforcement efforts throughout Cumberland.
