A third-prize-winning Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was sold in Orange County, giving one New York Lottery player a six-figure prize.
NEWBURGH, NY — A New York Lottery player is holding a Powerball ticket worth $100,000 after purchasing the winning ticket at a Newburgh retailer for Wednesday night’s drawing.
According to the New York Lottery, the third-prize-winning Power Play ticket was sold at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Road in Newburgh.
The Power Play option increased the value of the third-tier prize to $100,000.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. The game features five white balls drawn from a pool of 69 numbers and one red Powerball drawn from a separate pool of 26 numbers.
The New York Lottery did not release information about the ticket holder.
