Police investigating shooting on Douglas Street NE in 5th District

WASHINGTON, DC – A shooting in the 400 block of Douglas Street NE is under investigation after officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunfire Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the city’s 5th District. Police are searching for a suspect described as a Black male with long dreadlocks and glasses, approximately 6’2” tall. He was last seen wearing a ripped blue shirt and a black hoodie.

MPD has not released information about the condition of any victims or the circumstances leading to the shooting. The suspect remains at large, and the case is under active investigation.
