Man sought after alleged groping on queens bus

QUEENS, NY – A woman’s morning commute turned unsettling Tuesday when an unidentified man allegedly groped her while riding an MTA bus in Forest Hills.

Police said the 28-year-old victim was standing on a Q23 bus approaching 108 Street and 70 Road around 8:30 a.m. when a man standing nearby touched her buttocks.

The suspect immediately exited the bus and fled the area on foot, disappearing in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Police searching for suspect

Authorities described the suspect as a male between 55 and 60 years old, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and MTA cameras to identify the man.

MTA officials respond

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said it is cooperating fully with law enforcement and urged riders to report inappropriate behavior immediately to bus operators or through the MTA’s customer assistance channels.
