Cumberland man accused of stealing Ford F-150 nabbed in Pulaski Street theft case

CUMBERLAND, MD – A 20-year-old Cumberland man was arrested Friday after police say he stole a pickup truck earlier this month from a residential block in the city’s West Side.

Nathin William Schroth was taken into custody on an active warrant stemming from an October 8 incident in which a 2016 Ford F-150 was reported stolen from the 300 block of Pulaski Street, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

Following his arrest, Schroth was brought before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and is being held without bond.

The charges filed against Schroth include motor vehicle unlawful taking, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle, two counts of rogue and vagabond, theft under $100, and theft between $100 and $1,500.

No further details were released about the recovery of the vehicle or whether any damage was reported. Police have not said whether Schroth has any prior criminal history.
