Woman wanted after robbery on 49th Street SE as DC police search for suspect in cardigan

Washington, DC – A robbery in Southeast DC Monday afternoon has triggered a police search for a female suspect last seen wearing a grey and black cardigan after fleeing the scene on 49th Street SE.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department units from the 6th District responded to reports of a robbery in the 100 block of 49th Street SE. Witnesses described the suspect as a Black female, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a grey and black cardigan. No further description has been released.

Details about what was taken or whether anyone was injured have not been made public. Officers remained in the area canvassing for surveillance footage and additional witnesses following the incident.
