Woodbridge man busted for stashing box of empty beer bottles at Stafford County park

STAFFORD, VA — A 29-year-old man from Woodbridge was arrested for public intoxication at a local park after deputies allegedly caught him trying to hide a box of empty beer bottles behind a tree in broad daylight.

Aaron Vera Valcarcel was taken into custody at Willowmere Park on Willowmere Pond Road around 4:49 p.m. Monday after Stafford County deputies were called to investigate a possible intoxicated person. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Valcarcel placed a box filled with empty Corona bottles behind a tree directly in front of the deputies’ vehicle just as they arrived.

Deputies made contact with Valcarcel and determined he was intoxicated. He was arrested at the scene by Deputy A. M. Harrah and transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Valcarcel was held until he was deemed sober and is facing a charge of public intoxication.

The incident occurred in a family-friendly park frequented by local residents, and authorities have not reported any injuries or disturbances connected to the arrest. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed if any additional charges will be filed.
