SEVERN, MD — A juvenile walking home from a convenience store was robbed of his shoes by a group of masked youths in a strong-arm robbery Monday evening, prompting an investigation by Western District police.

The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on the 8200 block of Portsmouth Drive. According to officers, the young victim was approached by five juveniles — three males and two females — who surrounded him and demanded his shoes. The victim complied, handing them over before the suspects fled the area on foot.

The crime was reported to police around 8:30 p.m., when officers responded to the 1300 block of Raleigh Drive. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Investigators say the three male suspects were all wearing black clothing and black ski masks. One of the two female suspects was described as having blue hair.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District continues to investigate the case. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-222-6155.
