Shooting suspect arrested after series of parking lot gunfire incidents in Bensalem

BENSALEM, PA — A 19-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with multiple shooting incidents in a Bensalem parking garage, including one earlier this month where gunfire was aimed at a group of juveniles.

On October 11, around 7:10 p.m., a group of teenagers were gathered in the parking lot at 3800 Horizon Boulevard when they noticed a man in a blue Toyota observing them. Moments later, the man fired two 9mm rounds in their direction before fleeing the scene at high speed. No injuries were reported, but officers recovered two spent shell casings.

The juveniles told police the suspect had previously chased them and fired shots at them on other occasions, which had not been reported until the most recent incident. During the investigation, detectives also uncovered another unreported shooting from September 10 in the same garage, where witnesses recalled hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a similar vehicle.

Bensalem Police began surveillance of the area and, on October 22, spotted the suspect vehicle driven by an Asian male in his early twenties. When officers attempted to approach, the driver accelerated toward a patrol vehicle before fleeing and jumping a curb. Police captured the license plate number during the pursuit.

Detectives traced the vehicle to a registered owner and identified her son, Talgat Turgunbekov, 19, of Bustleton Avenue in Philadelphia, as matching the shooter’s description. He had also been involved in a 2024 road rage case, where he reportedly pointed a BB rifle and threw a tire iron through another driver’s rear window.

The juveniles later positively identified Turgunbekov as the shooter from the October 11 incident. On Thursday, October 24, Turgunbekov voluntarily turned himself in to Bensalem Police.
