Whitesboro woman charged after $7,000 vandalism spree in Utica parking lot

Utica, NY – A 21-year-old Whitesboro woman has been charged after police say she caused more than $7,000 in damage to a vehicle that was smeared with condiments and scratched in a downtown Utica parking lot.

Utica Police said the incident occurred on August 25 behind 287 Genesee Street, where officers responded to a report of criminal mischief.

Investigators determined that the vehicle had been covered in ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and eggs, along with extensive scratching across the body panels.

Investigators identify suspect through surveillance footage

Police said the case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division after the damage estimate placed the crime above the felony threshold. Detectives collected video evidence from the scene and later identified the suspect as Chloe Sue Stacy.

On October 20, following a review of the footage and supporting evidence, Stacy was formally charged with one count of second-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

Authorities did not disclose a motive for the vandalism but confirmed that the damage estimate exceeded $7,000.

Utica Police said the investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
