FREDERICK, MD – A grim discovery in a wooded area off Interstate 70 has sparked a death investigation after skeletal remains were found Thursday afternoon by Maryland natural resources personnel in rural Frederick County.

Maryland State Police responded to the area near I-70 and Green Valley Road shortly before 4 p.m. after officials from the Department of Natural Resources reported locating what appeared to be human remains deep in the woods.
