Man busted after gunpoint robbery in DC apartment lobby as victim flags down Secret Service

Washington, DC – A man was arrested Sunday afternoon after allegedly robbing another man at gunpoint in a Northwest DC apartment building, only to be caught moments later with the help of nearby Secret Service agents and members of the National Guard.

The incident unfolded around 3:46 p.m. on November 9, when the suspect approached the victim in the lobby of a building in the 800 block of 10th Street NW. Police say the suspect pulled a firearm and demanded the victim’s belongings before fleeing on foot.

In a swift turn of events, the victim followed the suspect outside and flagged down nearby U.S. Secret Service officers, who were in the vicinity. The officers, along with National Guard members, located and detained the suspect. A firearm was recovered during the arrest.

The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Brandon Stallworth of Richmond, Virginia. He is now facing charges of Armed Robbery (Gun) and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.

The Metropolitan Police Department credited the rapid apprehension to the combined efforts of federal and military personnel present at the time of the crime. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional suspects are being sought.
