Man tackled shopper inside Myrtle Beach Target in midday assault

Myrtle Beach, SC – A violent assault inside a busy Target store left one person hospitalized and another in custody Monday afternoon after a man tackled and repeatedly struck a shopper in the entryway of the retail location.

The incident unfolded around 12:17 p.m. in the 1000 block of Seaboard Street, when Myrtle Beach police responded to reports of an attack near the store entrance. Witnesses said the victim was first struck outside and then tackled to the ground just inside the store.

Police say the suspect continued to assault the individual on the floor until store security intervened and separated the two.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Bruce Dansby of Myrtle Beach, was taken into custody at the scene. He now faces charges of Assault and Disorderly Conduct.

The motive behind the assault remains unclear, and the case is under active investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with additional details to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department’s non-emergency line at 843-918-1382.
