Police say a second person was assaulted after stepping in to stop the attack
NEWARK, DE – A 35-year-old Delaware woman allegedly struck a Newark storage facility employee multiple times with a hammer and put the worker in a chokehold after being told she could no longer do business there, leaving the employee injured and the woman jailed on a $74,001 cash bond.
Delaware State Police identified the woman as Amber Goldsborough of Townsend.

Troopers responded at approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday to Storage Rentals of America at 2090 Stafford Way after receiving a report of a fight in progress.
Dispute erupts after woman barred from facility
Investigators said staff informed Goldsborough that she was no longer permitted to conduct business at the storage facility.
A verbal dispute followed between Goldsborough and an employee.
Police allege Goldsborough threatened to harm the employee before striking the worker multiple times with a hammer.
Goldsborough then allegedly put the employee in a chokehold that restricted the victim’s ability to breathe.
Witness steps in and is attacked
A witness intervened and separated Goldsborough from the employee, according to state police.
Investigators allege Goldsborough then assaulted the witness.
Both victims retreated into the business and locked the door while Goldsborough continued yelling threats at them, police said.
The employee was transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The witness declined medical treatment.
Police say suspect resisted arrest
Responding troopers found both injured victims and Goldsborough at the property.
When troopers attempted to take Goldsborough into custody, police said she physically resisted. She was arrested following a brief struggle.
Goldsborough was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, second-degree assault, aggravated menacing, strangulation, resisting arrest with force or violence, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, terroristic threatening and third-degree criminal trespass.
Following arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court, she was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction on a $74,001 cash bond.
The charges are accusations, and Goldsborough is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
