Newark, NJ – City officials are asking for the public’s help identifying two people connected to a recent shooting.
The request follows gunfire detected by acoustic monitoring technology in multiple locations. Investigators recovered 9mm shell casings across three nearby blocks.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. said the shooting occurred at about 2:33 a.m. on October 16 when the detection system registered gunfire in the 100 block of Warwick Street and the 200 block of New York Avenue. Officers who responded located one 9mm casing on Warwick Street and another in the 50 block of Pulaski Street.

Call for community assistance
Director Miranda asked residents to help identify the two individuals sought in the investigation, noting that all anonymous tips are kept confidential through the Crime Stopper program. The tip line is available around the clock at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.

Investigators continue reviewing information
Authorities are examining evidence collected from the three locations and reviewing all leads generated since the incident. Additional details on the individuals being sought were not immediately disclosed as the investigation remains active.
