FELTON, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested two Wilmington men in connection with a violent home invasion and armed robbery that led to a high-speed pursuit across Kent County on Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities said 19-year-old Dylan Charles and 22-year-old Quincey Thomas were taken into custody after crashing a stolen SUV on State Route 1. A third suspect, described only as a Black male, remains at large.

The incident began shortly after 1 p.m. on November 11, when troopers responded to a home on East Chimney Top Lane in Felton.

Key Points

  • Two suspects arrested after a home invasion, robbery, and vehicle pursuit in Kent County.
  • Police say a third suspect fled the scene and remains unidentified.
  • Multiple firearms and over 1,500 grams of marijuana were recovered from the vehicle.

Armed robbery at Felton residence

Investigators said Charles and Thomas, known to one of the home’s residents, entered the house and confronted a 17-year-old male, demanding money while threatening him with a handgun. When an adult female attempted to intervene with a rifle, the suspects overpowered her, took the weapon, and pointed it at her while demanding more money.

Two children were also inside during the home invasion — one barricaded themselves in a bedroom while the other fled to a neighbor’s house. The 17-year-old and both children were unharmed, while the woman sustained a minor injury.

Pursuit and crash on State Route 1

The suspects fled the home in a white Infiniti QX5. Troopers spotted the vehicle a short time later and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver — identified as Thomas — refused to pull over. A chase ensued through several Kent County roads, during which troopers observed firearms being tossed from the SUV along State Route 1.

After officers deployed stop sticks, the Infiniti struck a median cable and a guardrail near North Little Creek Road, disabling the vehicle. All three occupants fled on foot. Thomas and Charles were quickly arrested, but the third suspect evaded capture.

Evidence recovered and charges filed

Troopers recovered the stolen rifle and a handgun without a serial number used during the robbery. A search of the vehicle also yielded approximately 1,595 grams of marijuana.

Charles was charged with multiple felonies, including robbery, assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and related offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $150,000 cash bond.

Thomas faces similar charges. The investigation remains active as detectives continue working to identify and locate the third suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact Delaware State Police Troop 3 or Delaware Crime Stoppers.
