Winning ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Staten Island lottery player is celebrating a $50,000 Powerball prize after purchasing a winning ticket at a neighborhood liquor store.
According to the New York Lottery, the ticket was sold at Homeport Liquors and Fine Wine, located at 80 Canal St. on Staten Island.
The ticket matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball in the Saturday, Aug. 1 drawing, earning a third-tier prize of $50,000.
The New York Lottery did not release information about the ticket holder.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
