Suspect arrested after overnight shooting during altercation on Forest Street in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH — A 26-year-old woman was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after a shooting during a dispute left one person injured on the city’s east side.

Just after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 1000 block of Forest Street. When they arrived, they found a victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported for treatment and is expected to survive.

Police say the shooting followed an altercation between the victim and the suspect, identified as Aaliyah Harris. Investigators determined the argument escalated into violence, leading Harris to allegedly open fire.

Detectives from the Felony Assault Unit are handling the investigation. As of Tuesday afternoon, no additional details on what sparked the confrontation had been released, and it remains unclear whether any charges have been formally filed.
