QUEENS, NY – The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in finding a 17-year-old girl who went missing after leaving her home in Flushing on Wednesday night.
Investigators said Janessa Perez was last seen around 8 p.m. leaving her residence on Smart Street within the 109th Precinct.
Perez is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet tall, weighing around 100 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black jacket and black jeans, police said.
Family members reported her missing after she failed to return home later that evening.
Police continue search efforts
Detectives from the 109th Precinct have been canvassing the area and reviewing local surveillance footage in an effort to locate Perez.
The NYPD has distributed her photo and description citywide through its Missing Persons Squad and community alert systems.
