Repeat DUI offender arrested after nearly crashing white truck in Stafford

STAFFORD, VA – A 52-year-old Stafford man with prior DUI convictions was arrested late Saturday night after allegedly driving drunk and nearly causing a crash.

Deputy S. Waheed responded around 11:38 p.m. to a call about a white truck with ladders swerving in the area of Foxwood Drive and Staffordboro Boulevard. The vehicle was located on Cliff Circle, where the driver, identified as Rafael Meras Estrada, showed strong signs of intoxication.

Estrada had bloodshot eyes, unsteady footing, and failed sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI (third or subsequent offense), operating a vehicle while drinking, and driving without a license. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
