Brooklyn teen vanishes after leaving home Friday afternoon

BROOKLYN, NY – A 13-year-old girl from Crown Heights has gone missing after leaving her home on St. Johns Place Friday afternoon.

Police said Eniya Springer was last seen around 3:15 p.m. walking away from her residence at 564 St. Johns Place.

Family members reported her missing later that evening when she did not return home.

Authorities describe Springer as a Black female with a medium complexion and heavy build, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair.

Police release description of missing girl

According to investigators, Springer was last seen wearing a light blue and black North Face jacket, a black sweater with rhinestones, black and blue cargo jeans, a black and white knit hat, pink sneakers, and carrying a red Nike backpack.

Detectives from the 77th Precinct are canvassing the area and reviewing nearby surveillance footage for any trace of her movements after she left home.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information regarding Springer’s whereabouts to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls are confidential.

Community joins search effort

Local residents have begun sharing her photo on social media, asking anyone who may have seen her near St. Johns Place or nearby subway stations to come forward. Flyers have also been distributed throughout the neighborhood.

Police said there is no indication of foul play at this time, but investigators are treating the case as an active missing person search.
