JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Jackson Township officials announced an upcoming sensory-friendly movie event aimed at providing an inclusive entertainment experience for residents with disabilities and their families.
The Jackson Township Commission for the Disabled / Handicapped (JTCDH) will host a private screening of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at AMC Theatres, 101 Trotters Way in Freehold. The showing begins at 10:30 a.m., with doors opening at 10:00 a.m.
Mayor Jennifer L. Kuhn and the Jackson Township Council are partnering with the Commission to support the event, which is designed to accommodate individuals with sensory sensitivities.
Inclusive event promotes accessibility and community connection
The screening will feature lowered sound levels and soft lighting to ensure a calm environment for attendees. AMC staff will be available to provide assistance and help meet the specific needs of participants.
Registered clients of the Commission will receive one complimentary movie ticket to attend the screening. Seating is limited, and participants are encouraged to reserve their spots early. Additional guest tickets and concessions will be available for purchase directly from the theater.
“Events like Movie Morning highlight Jackson Township’s commitment to ensuring every resident can take part in shared community experiences,” Mayor Kuhn said.
