Powerball ticket sold in Manhattan lands player $50K prize
Manhattan, NY – A Powerball player in Manhattan just scored a $50,000 third-tier prize in the December 17 drawing after purchasing a ticket at a local pharmacy, according to the New York Lottery.
The winning ticket was sold at DAVIDS PHARMACY, located at 205 3rd Avenue. It matched four out of five white numbers and the red Powerball, securing the $50,000 prize.
The Powerball game involves selecting five numbers from a field of 69 and one red Powerball from a separate pool of 26. The third-tier prize is awarded to tickets that hit four white balls and the red Powerball.
The December 17 draw produced four third-prize winners across New York State, including this ticket sold in Manhattan.
The New York Lottery reported it contributed $3.6 billion to New York’s public school system during the 2024–2025 fiscal year, making it the largest and most profitable lottery in North America.
