Powerball player in Fresh Meadows hits $50K prize with winning ticket
Fresh Meadows, NY – A lucky Powerball player in Fresh Meadows is starting the week with an extra $50,000 after buying a third-prize-winning ticket for the December 17 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
The winning ticket was sold at NOR-CREST SERVICE STATION, located at 178-02 Union Turnpike. It matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball number, securing the third-tier prize.
The Powerball drawing is held three times a week — every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday — and the winning numbers are drawn from a pool of one to 69, with the red Powerball drawn separately from one to 26.
This ticket was one of four third-prize winners sold across New York for the same drawing.
The New York Lottery remains the most profitable in North America, contributing $3.6 billion in the 2024–2025 fiscal year to fund public education in the state.
