Newburgh Powerball player wins $50K with ticket sold at local smoke shop
Newburgh, NY – A Powerball player in Newburgh picked up a $50,000 third-tier prize in the December 17 drawing after purchasing a lucky ticket at a neighborhood retailer.
The New York Lottery confirmed the winning ticket was sold at SMOKES 4 LESS, located at 59 North Plank Road. The ticket matched four of the five white balls along with the red Powerball, securing the $50,000 prize.
Under Powerball rules, players select five numbers from a set of 69 and one red Powerball from a separate pool of 26. Third-prize tickets that match four white numbers and the Powerball are worth $50,000.
The December 17 drawing resulted in four third-tier winning tickets across New York State, including this one sold in Newburgh.
