Arnold man busted after police find stolen gun and drugs during search
ARNOLD, PA – A routine search warrant for electronics turned into a major drug and weapons bust Thursday when officers discovered a stolen gun and an array of illegal narcotics inside the Arnold home of Delino Franklin.
Franklin was taken into custody after agents with Pennsylvania state probation and parole, backed by New Kensington Police, Westmoreland County Detectives, and Arnold Police, executed a search warrant at his Kimball Avenue residence. The original warrant targeted Franklin’s electronic devices, but what police found inside led to a swift expansion of the investigation.
During the search, officers reportedly found a backpack containing a baggie of psychedelic mushrooms, along with Franklin’s banking cards and photo ID. That discovery prompted investigators to secure additional search warrants for the property.
The follow-up search uncovered marijuana throughout the home, packaged capsules suspected to contain fentanyl, a digital scale, and other materials consistent with drug distribution. Police also found a handgun that did not belong to Franklin—records showed it was registered to another individual, confirming the firearm had been stolen.
Charges against Franklin include multiple drug offenses and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is currently awaiting a preliminary arraignment.
