A Calvert County resident reported $117 missing from birthday cards that had been placed in her mailbox

PRINCE FREDERICK, MD – A birthday delivery turned into a theft investigation after a Calvert County woman discovered money had allegedly been taken from birthday cards placed inside her mailbox.

The theft was reported Aug. 27 at the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office District 2 office on Church Street in Prince Frederick.

The complainant told the sheriff’s office that money had been removed from birthday cards placed in her mailbox.

The estimated value of the stolen property was $117.

The sheriff’s office did not disclose how many birthday cards were involved or when the money was believed to have been taken.

No suspect description or arrest was announced in the department’s blotter.
