Nampa, ID – A couple has been charged following the death of their 12-day-old baby in a trailer described as filthy. According to court documents, the child suffocated and was then moved to a house by the parents.
Brian Lemke, 31, and Allysen Armenta, 28, reportedly texted each other after their child’s death instead of contacting authorities. Both are facing multiple charges, including felony injury to a child and hiding evidence.
On Thursday, Lemke made a 911 call at 3:32 a.m. regarding the baby’s condition. Officers arrived at a house on Lone Star Road where Lemke claimed the infant died, though the child was later found to be moved from a different location.
Investigators found the trailer filled with trash and other hazardous materials. Armenta was discovered hiding in a camp trailer and was taken into custody.
The couple has prior convictions for child endangerment in Idaho. Reports indicate that their other children have been removed from their custody in the past due to unsafe living conditions.
Both Lemke and Armenta are scheduled to appear in court next month for preliminary hearings.
