SALTSBURG, PA – A Saltsburg woman is behind bars after allegedly shooting her former boyfriend during an argument at her home last week, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Investigators said the incident occurred at a residence on Sub Station Road, where 51-year-old Nina Lipford allegedly opened fire on her ex-boyfriend, striking him in the shoulder. The victim, a 50-year-old man, did not seek immediate medical attention but later went to Latrobe’s Independence Hospital after the pain became severe.

Hospital staff notified troopers after discovering a bullet lodged in the man’s shoulder. During an interview, the victim told police he and Lipford had been arguing when he was asked to leave. As he bent down to put on his boots, he reportedly heard a gunshot and felt a sharp pain before turning to see Lipford holding a small pistol.

Troopers later executed a search warrant at Lipford’s home, where they recovered a handgun matching the victim’s description. The weapon was seized as evidence.
