UTICA, NY – The Utica Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the owners of two dogs found and safely secured over the weekend.
Officers said the first dog, a brindle pit bull mix, was located inside the Kennedy Plaza Apartments, while the second, a light-colored terrier mix, was found on the 1200 block of Neilson Street. Both animals are currently safe as police work to reunite them with their owners.

Anyone who recognizes the dogs or has information about their owners is asked to contact the Utica Police Department at 315-223-3461.
Community urged to share information
Police are urging residents in the Kennedy Plaza and Neilson Street areas to check with neighbors or nearby pet owners who may be missing their dogs. Photos of the animals have been shared on the department’s Facebook page to assist with identification.
The department frequently partners with local animal control officers to ensure lost or stray animals are cared for until owners can be located. Officials said both dogs appeared healthy at the time they were found.
