Night shooting leaves woman hit and man rushing to hospital

Night of gunfire leaves two wounded on West Fayette Street

Baltimore, MD — A late-night burst of gunfire in Southwest Baltimore left two people injured, including a woman found at the scene and a man who later showed up at a hospital.

Officers responded around 9:50 p.m. Thursday to the 1500 block of West Fayette Street after a ShotSpotter alert detected gunfire.

At the scene, police located a 30-year-old female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

A second victim, a 21-year-old male, arrived at a hospital on his own seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Detectives from the Southwest District are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No suspect information has been released.
