Nypd searches for suspect after teen reports unwanted contact on c train

New York, NY — NYPD detectives are investigating an incident involving a 14-year-old girl aboard a southbound C train in Manhattan earlier this month, according to police.

Investigators said the incident happened around 4:10 p.m. on Monday, May 18, as the train approached the West 4 Street station. Police said an unidentified man boarded the train, sat next to the teen, and made unwanted physical contact before leaving the train at the Jay Street–MetroTech station in Brooklyn.

Authorities have not released a description of the suspect, and no arrests have been announced.

NYPD Requests Public Assistance

The NYPD shared details of the case through its Crimestoppers unit as detectives continue efforts to identify the individual involved.

The incident occurred during the afternoon commute on the C line, which connects Manhattan and Brooklyn and serves thousands of riders daily.

Police have not said whether surveillance footage captured the encounter or whether witnesses came forward after the incident.
