STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A series of late-night and early-morning traffic stops across Stafford County led to multiple DUI arrests over several days, including cases involving reckless driving, crashes, and one incident involving a child in the vehicle, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Between May 29 and May 31, deputies conducted multiple stops that resulted in arrests after drivers were found allegedly operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol, authorities said.
In one case, a driver was found asleep behind the wheel on International Parkway near a Chick-fil-A, while another stop on Richmond Highway led to a DUI arrest after a reckless driving complaint. In a separate incident, deputies reported that a child was present in a vehicle during an impaired driving stop, resulting in additional charges.
Officials said all suspects were processed and taken into custody or released in accordance with Virginia law, depending on the case.
The sheriff’s office said field sobriety tests and breath analysis were used in several arrests, with multiple drivers registering above the legal limit or refusing testing before being arrested.
Authorities did not release further details on ongoing court proceedings.
