Two women were injured in a shooting in Wilkinsburg before additional gunfire broke out nearby while officers processed the scene, according to Allegheny County Police.
WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Two women were hospitalized after a late-night shooting in Wilkinsburg, and a separate shooting involving two vehicles occurred nearby while officers were investigating the initial incident, according to Allegheny County Police.
County 9-1-1 received a ShotSpotter alert at approximately 10:59 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Laketon Road. Responding officers located numerous shell casings at the scene but learned the victims had already left the area in a vehicle.

The two victims, both adult women, drove to the intersection of Allegheny River Boulevard and Nadine Road, where emergency medical personnel met them and transported them to a local hospital.
According to police, one woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze wound to her wrist. The second woman sustained a graze wound to her leg. Authorities said both victims were reported in stable condition.
Additional gunfire reported nearby
While officers were processing evidence on Laketon Road, police said two vehicles approached the area at a high rate of speed. Investigators allege a passenger in the second vehicle fired shots at the first vehicle as the cars passed through the area.
Officers attempted to pursue the suspected vehicle but eventually lost sight of it, according to police.
Occupants unharmed in second incident
The occupants of the targeted vehicle, identified as an adult male and a juvenile male, later stopped near the intersection of Robinson Boulevard and Sunrise Avenue in Pittsburgh and contacted police.
Authorities said neither occupant was injured during the incident. Detectives have not announced any arrests and have not released descriptions of any suspects.
