Woman charged after argument over living arrangements turns physical

A disagreement inside a Cumberland home escalated into an assault that left one person injured and another under arrest, police said.

CUMBERLAND, Md. — A Cumberland woman was arrested after police say an argument over living arrangements inside a home turned physical.

According to the Cumberland Police Department, officers responded Sunday to a residence in the 100 block of Kentucky Avenue for a reported assault.

Investigators said those involved told officers an argument began over living arrangements inside the home.

During the dispute, police allege 20-year-old Gabrielle Renee Miller kicked a door, causing it to strike another person and leave the victim with visible injuries.

Miller was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.

She later appeared before a District Court commissioner and was released on her own recognizance.

The charge is an allegation, and Miller is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
