BAYVILLE, N.J. – Two children have reportedly died following a boating incident near Bayville on the Barnegat, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.
Emergency crews responded Sunday to the waters off Bay Boulevard after reports of CPR in progress aboard a vessel. First responders rendezvoused with the boat near MJ’s Restaurant Bar & Grill as rescuers attempted lifesaving measures.
Initial reports indicated the children were unresponsive after suffering traumatic injuries aboard the vessel. Authorities have not publicly released details about how the injuries occurred.
Victims identified as young boys
The ages of the boys were not identified, but witnesses and sources close to the situation confirmed the victims were two male juveniles. Officials have not yet released their identities.
Authorities also have not announced whether anyone else aboard the boat was injured.
