Police search for three suspects after violent overnight robbery
NEW YORK, NY — A driver waiting at a Bronx red light was surrounded by three armed suspects who allegedly dragged him from his Mercedes-Benz, stole his valuables and sped away in his vehicle before abandoning it a short distance away, police said.
The robbery occurred at approximately 12:35 a.m. Sunday, June 28, at the intersection of Webster Avenue and East 184th Street in the confines of the 46th Precinct, according to the NYPD.
Police said the 40-year-old victim was stopped at a red light inside his black 2021 Mercedes-Benz when three unidentified men approached displaying firearms.
The suspects allegedly forced the victim out of the vehicle before taking his cellphone, a gold chain and approximately $140 in cash.
The three men then fled in the victim’s Mercedes.
Police later recovered the vehicle in the area of Folin Street and Tiebout Avenue.
The NYPD has released details of the robbery and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
