MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A death investigation is underway after Myrtle Beach police responded to a report of a deceased person Friday morning near a property along North Kings Highway.

According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:31 a.m. Friday to the 6800 block of North Kings Highway.

When officers arrived, they located a deceased person.

Police have not released the person’s identity or disclosed the circumstances surrounding the death.

Residents and motorists may notice an increased law enforcement presence in the area while officers continue to investigate.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department has not announced whether foul play is suspected.
